I especially like the list using the broadcast times and the 24 hour clock. I now don't have to waste time trying to listen to a station that is simply not broadcasting when I'm searching. I also have printed out that list (17 pages) to use as a hard copy reference especially if the internet is shut down I have a hard copy.Mike Yukonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07615350717597229013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4484337655568711669.post-4939839555963967352014-11-23T18:08:00.575-05:002014-11-23T18:08:00.575-05:00Mike,

Also it is required to operate 2 meter and some of the channels on the handheld GMRS/FRS radios.

Also shortwave is a great hobby so obtaining the required licenses would make it more enjoyable.

As far as broadcasting on HF frequencies without a license I would do it if I was in a desperate situation. Then I wouldn't care what the FCC Reg's are. Everyday I comply with to many government communist rules and mandates and if there is a communication blackout THEY caused it and THEY can kiss my....
Mike Yukonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07615350717597229013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4484337655568711669.post-44924795863353413632014-11-18T14:53:03.391-05:002014-11-18T14:53:03.391-05:00Better still, become a ham radio operator yourself...Better still, become a ham radio operator yourself. It is VERY easy to become a Technician class ham and there are VERY inexpensive handheld transceivers (e.g., the Baofeng line of radios). No Morse code is required. We have two shortwave radios - one battery (Realistic from Radio Shack) and one hand crank (Freeplay original Baygen) - that we should be enjoying more often. With winter pounding on the door here, exploring the airwaves sounds like an enjoyable and educational use of time.2 Trampshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12721390235821161265noreply@blogger.com
