After
reading several sources who were complaining about ammo shortages and high
prices, I checked my ammo sources yesterday to verify. Wow it’s now more than 4x what I
paid 15 years ago buying from Cheaper Than Dirt and Ammoman.com I have no idea why the prices are so high but
it makes me glad I stocked-up back then otherwise a day at the range would be painful!
As of
yesterday:
223 =
$540 per 1000
9mm =
$450 per 1000
308 =
$800 per 1000
12ga ‘00’
and ‘slugs’ = $1,100 per 1000
I'm sure there are a LOT of reasons that things like that are higher, including greed.
ReplyDeleteI paid 40.00 for a box of 25, 12 guage 00 Buckshot. also paid 35.00 for a box of 50 rounds .45 acp jacketed hollow points and 10.00 box of 5, 12 guage slugs. These prices are a little inflated because of panic buying but not exactly price gauging either. ammo is just become very expensive last 10 or so years. I was happy to get the ammo. online suppliers have either stopped selling online orders or are out of stock.
ReplyDeleteNot sure where you sourced your current prices, everywhere I check online is out of stock.

Ray,
DeleteMy three favorite sources are "Cheaper Than Dirt', 'Ammoman.com' and 'LuckyGunner'. Yes some of the ammo is out of stock today but their stocking levels are very fluid, none today and stocked tomorrow. Just have to be patient.
