Echo & Alexa

“You can now instantly connect to Alexa to play music, control your smart home, and get information, news, weather, and more using just your voice.”

When these devices first came out I immediately saw the downside of them. Anytime you have a voice-activated device (it’s always on) that listens to/for your voice for commands, your privacy is compromised. You will never know who else is listening and storing all your commands, data and most private conversations or sounds not meant to be heard by others (government/law enforcement) who have the capability to hack your device. I don’t have one and never will!

  1. Interesting article. It's kind of obvious this is what it's all coming to. Just wish it wasn't happening in our lifetime.

  2. How quickly some people trade privacy and freedom for "convenience."

    ...Some people are stupid...

  3. I have turned off the camera and microphone on my computer, too. Turn off Alexa on Amazon tablet, too. Keep my phone in other room, as it is listening, too. Scary what is already out there, and the kids think it is great and don't care about privacy.

  4. I'm pretty sure this technology will be used against the subscriber. Look at Face-Book, employers search and review the applicants account to see who the real person is.
