These are true survival cookies. During a disaster aftermath
everyone will want treats and these oatmeal cookies will make everyone happy.
Best of all this is a simple recipe with all ingredients coming from your
long-term food storage. Soft and Chewy, Yummy!
Yields about 40 cookies, (shown stacked on a dinner plate).
Ingredients:
- 4 cups
rolled oats (old fashion)
- 1½ cups AP
white flour (or whole wheat milled flour)
- 1 stick
butter ( or 1 cup shortening)
- 1/2 cup
white sugar
- 1 cup light
brown sugar
- 4½ ounces
water
- 2 eggs (or
dehydrated egg powder but re-hydrate before adding)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp
cinnamon (optional 1 tsp vanilla)
- 1 tsp salt
- (Optional: 1
cup chocolate chips or nuts or raisins)
Directions:
- Blend all
the dry ingredients
- Add and
blend in all the remaining wet ingredients.
- Drop 2
rounded tablespoonfuls onto a greased or parchment papered cookie sheet.
- Bake @ 375 degrees for 14-15 minutes
